Therapy for Burned-Out Givers

Do you feel like you’re always trying to make others happy at the expense of your own sanity? Are you running out of the energy needed to manage everyone else’s emotions? Do you feel like you’re letting others down even though you’re trying so hard to please them? Are you afraid to talk about how you feel because it might upset someone you love?

Many of us give until we have nothing left of ourselves. We were taught to sacrifice our needs to bless the lives of others, and we genuinely want to do so. However, we’ve gradually reached a point where we can no longer offer what we once did. We’ve started to feel depressed and empty. Stress and worry have filled our minds. We feel it in our bodies—the tightness in our chest, the pit in our stomach, the weight on our shoulders.

Those around us seem to have stopped appreciating us and now see only our limitations. They resent us, and we honestly feel the same about them.

We feel tired. We feel hurt. We feel alone.

I know this life because I’ve lived it, and I’ve worked with many clients who have had similar experiences. As a wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, I can relate on a personal level. As an experienced therapist, I have the knowledge and training to help you.
